Vango Equinox 350 or similar
« on: 18 August, 2011, 04:58:00 pm »
Anybody familiar with Vango Equinox 350?  Unlike the 250s which received rave review, the 350 is either praised or subject to a few people complaining that the poles breaking and a lack of customer care by Vango.

Or does anybody know of anything similar.  We are looking for a robust & strong tent that possesses a porch big enough to cope with two people sitting on chairs.

I have an Equinox 450 bought in 2010.  It is a good quality tent. Good quality flysheet material, zips and general finishing, easy to pitch.  The pole sleeves need a bit of use to make threading the poles easy, and its easier with two people.  This summer an end pole broke; the powerlite poles are pretty strong but broke in not particularly high wind.  Pegs are light alloy, strong enough but will bend, and probably not good enough in hard ground.

Vango say pole breaks are fair wear and tear.  Replacements easy to get but they don't give a toss about customer service.

Thanks for the feedback.

Having read a few other reviews elsewhere, your experience is not uncommon.  I will probably opt for a Lightwave instead of Vango.
