Train Ticket buying Apps and bike reservations
« on: 05 February, 2020, 03:00:44 pm »
Are there any apps that allow you to book a bike at the time of ticket purchase? I mostly buy my train tickets on an app because I don't have to hunt through 16 pockets to find them, but I want to take my bike more now and I haven't found any that allow that option yet.

Otherwise, which is currently the best way to book bikes online?

GWR let you book bikes through the website, and have an app for e-tickets

I've just checked and the app lets you book your bike, too. You don't have to be using a GWR train.

The Transpennine app (for Android at least) allows the booking of bikes on the same page as seat reservations.

For web pages, the last time I looked Transpennine Express, Great Western (same parent company, so very similar web offerings) and ScotRail all allowed bike bookings on the web.
Born to ride my bike, forced to work! ;)
