I saw Captain America in 3D.

That was 2Ds too many.

101 Dalmatians. For about the hundredth time. The Glenn Close one. It is about as sickly sweet as it is possible for a film with a mainly British cast to be. Isn't it? Now, how long is left of half term?
And since when has the British countryside been home to raccoons and beavers?

Skyfall - took my kids with me and although it was a PG I was surprised when Dame Judy said the f word. I enjoyed it but at times it didn't feel like a Bond movie.

Red Tails - some great action sequences but a ludicrously light, heavily fictionalised story. Looks like a video game on a too easy difficulty setting.

I had last week off work so decided to do a "Star Wars" marathon. With the exception of Pahntom Menace, which we don't have on DVD, I watched a film a day.

I still loves them, even the prequels.

Skyfall.

I took a week off my real job in the summer to be an extra in the movie. A week sitting in Pinewood studios, in a fake casino gambling, while staring at the stars.

Went to a special extras screening last night which was fun, eg applauding when your mates appeared on screen.

So can I blame you (along with all the other casino patrons) for showing a total lack of concern when one of the baddie henchmen gets slowly munched by a couple of Komodo dragons?

I'm in the establishing shot of the komodo dragons.
They were all computer generated, when we there they just had a big plastic one that didn't move.

Ice Age 4. It was so contrived picture-wise for the 3D version, even though I watched the 2D version. £6 for 3 tickets, but £10+ for the assorted rip-off crap they call refreshments.

The kids enjoyed it.

Skyfall, watched it tonight, one of the best Bond films I have seen for a long time.

Lots of little links to the old Bond films as well.

Took grandsons to see Skyfall last night.  First non Connery 007 film that I've seen in a cinema.  Coincided with my first experience of a multi screen modern cinema.  Last film prior to this (in a cinema) was E.T. when our daughter was about 7.

Skyfall. Very much a Bond film that is a homage to other bond films. No outstanding wow moments, but lots of fun stuff. The train crash was a touch below par

And the usual IT fantasy. But apart from that, a new M who looks good.

I thought the same. Nice bit of back story on bond as well.

Train crash yes - but a tube train with no people on it. Seen from Bond's viewpoint outside train. hope that helps

Unless you weren't aware Judi Dench is M and you think she is a new M, THAT'S A SPOILER.  >:(

Skyfall. Awful. The end is weak and an odd character is introduced for no apparent reason. The action scenes are lame, his suit's too tight, Fiennes has an appalling script, he does nothing really. I agreed with this:

You obviously haven't been watching AutumnWatch recently!

... but yes, a rather annoying Americanism.
Actually, it is rocket science.

Yeah. Saw it last night.

And while I appreciate suspension of disbelief, & wasn't bothered that the landscape on the train heading out of Istanbul was wrong (I've been on that route), or that an island off Nagasaki was transplanted to an overnight yacht ride from Macao, I was very, very bothered (1) that a supposed MI6 computer expert plugged a bad guys computer into his network & (2) that he was then surprised that Bad Things happened to said network.

Unfortunately, I wasn't really surprised that the controls for the building systems in MI6 HQ were connected, however indirectly, to public networks. It's the sort of stupid but possible thing that is regrettably credible, like a couple of British agents in Istanbul having a PC with a list on it which (1) shouldn't exist in one place & (2) if it ever does, should never be on any computer connected to any network, or ever let out of a physically secure location.

There was also the question of why Ralph Fiennes didn't think of having a quiet chat with some of his Hereford friends about something nasty going to happen somewhere which perhaps they could very discreetly send several of their fellows to take a look at. Call it a little training with live ammunition.

I liked Skyfall, but it lacked something. I dunno - a villain hell bent on taking over the world, an army of men in orange jump suits, a white cat.... You know, that sort of thing....
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

I really liked it. I thought the opening credits were beautiful, the Adele song fits perfectly with them, Daniel Craig is very muscular and tough guy - you wouldn't see him in a safari suit and think he had a Shatner-style corset on underneath - car chases, firey splodey bangs - all fine by me. Yes, a megalomaniac living in a hollowed out volcano carved in the shape of his own head with a pool containing frikkin' sharks with frikkin' laser beams on their heads would have been good, but it was still great as it was.
