Yes, that's the third. I hope the Mayor is there, out on the streets.
It is simpler than it looks.

Unusually, yesterday I flew via Philadephia which looks to be around 40 miles from Marsh Gibbon Gardens.
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

It's clearly your duty to ride a bike there, take photographs and generally act in the truly ambassadorial fashion that the MEMWNR brigade have come to know and respect. Just try not to set fire to your cycling gloves else you might have Homeland Security on your back.

I only had a couple of hours to kill between flights.  My current location, whilst still in Pennsylvania, is ~350 miles away from MGG by bike.   :(

So for Miles to ride a 'Double', he'll need to find Starboard Gibbon.

I'll get my coat.

Spare a thought for the people of Marsh Gibbon.

Not only are* they poor and starving, but they The Morning Chronicle of Monday, August 30, 1819 chose to take the piss in its 'grammar that makes you cringe' column.

According to google maps I am 198km from MG.  Think this may call for a DIY at some point.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the organizers doesn't come up with an MG calendar event.

Anyone know if MG has a shop or something?

I see Private Eye is also on the Marsh Gibbon bandwagon, p18.
Not especially helpful or mature

Ian Hislop has previous with Marsh Gibbon:

"Hislop (Ian Hislop, editor of private eye and veteran of Have I got News for You) was a violently aggressive, indiscriminate slogger, who for ever endeared himself to the team one day at the bizarrely named village of Marsh Gibbon.  He vaulted a fence to retrieve a six-hit, only to discover that the dried mud surface on to which he had jumped was in fact a thin crust covering a deep pool of liquid cowshit.”

From Penguins Stopped Play by Harry Thompson quoted on the Marsh Gibbon Cricket Club website.

Calling Bell Ringers  There must be quite a few bell ringing cyclists out there.  I've just checked if Marsh Gibbon has a Ring of Bells, they do, a ring of 5 at St. Mary the Virgin Church.

How about ringing 4 quarter peals this year to celebrate the Quarter milestones of Steve's cycling year?  The first of them would be Tuesday 31st March, just enough time to get 5 Ringers together for a Quarter of Grandsire Doubles.

The Quarter would be dedicated to Steve and his quest and would be forever recorded in the UK's bell ringing records.

I'm currently reading a book about Guy Gibson, leader of the Dam Buster's raid.

One paragraph starts" On Saturday, 27 March Gibson was given "most secret" orders..."

No points for guessing what I read that as!
I'm gonna limp to the pub and drink 'til the rest of me is as numb as my arse.

Maybe we need a Gibbon Arrow Event!

I've got a 300k DIY route from Bristol that takes in the Gibbon, not ridden it yet though.
I'll be tantalisingly close in April while riding the Buckingham Blinder, it passes through Stratton Audley which isn't far from MG.
