slowest website migration of all time?

Cloning a website from the slowest webserver in the universe (response time ~20sec+ anyone)…. taken about 8 hours to migrate off ~12,000 files.... just about to move the last few files... will we get to the end of this? We can only pray... if only because I want my PC back! As is I daren't touch it!

These things tend to slow down exponentially as the count gets lower.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.
