No idea who Henry Cotton is but did Alliss design a course either on the Kintyre peninsula or for one of the Vanderbilt residences?
Why should anybody steal a watch when they can steal a bicycle?

It is a Henry Cotton designed course. So that is the link part with Perter Alliss. Now for the link at the other end. Nothing to do with Dull of Kintyre!
It is simpler than it looks.

Only one I can find designed by Cotton (tho I see he did a few) is Le Meridien-Penina.

And it seems that Alliss played a game against Doug Sanders at Penina in 1968.  Not sure what it was, but the video is pretty popular.

After an awful lot of prompting, I have to confess.

Anyway, here's your new question.

How does Miranda connect Richard Ashcroft, Motorhead, Iron Maiden and Charlotte Church, by way of the grandson of a Bulldog and Essex?

No.  Someone else's Bulldog.  That bit is not music-related.  More biological/zoological.

The Bulldog in question was actually a biologist, and the grandson had brothers who were a biologist and a zoologist, but wasn't in that line himself.

btw, the question reads better if you put a comma before 'and Essex', like this

How does Miranda connect Richard Ashcroft, Motorhead, Iron Maiden and Charlotte Church, by way of the grandson of a Bulldog, and Essex?

Sir! Sir!

Huxley, T was Darwin's Bulldog.

Unfortunately Aldous (presumed grandson) didn't stand in for Lemmy.

(thinks)

Brave New World apart from being by Aldous Huxley is a line from Shakespeare.

Oops! Sorry!

Another coffee on the go (FSVO coffee - Nestle (spit) Gold Blend and what could be Tippex, it certainly ain't milk).

Anyway, mulling this over as I rode to work today, didn't Essex, D have a song called Brave New World?  From that War of the Worlds thing?

If so, is it they all had songs (or in Huxley's case a book) called Brave New World?

I must say I haven't heard of Richard Ashcroft.
