Cheap badminton raquets
« on: 11 July, 2008, 10:47:10 am »
Hi,

I have started to play badminton with a few friends from work. Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a decent(cheap) racquet from?

(ps mods) if this is in the wrong forum can you move to the correct place please.
Cheers
Rich

Can't go wrong with Yonex or Pro Kennex. Pick a price limit and see what you can get for it.

On the Internet both Tennis rackets, UK Pro Racket Specialist. Tennis, Squash, Badminton, Racketball. or Tennis, Badminton & Squash Rackets,  Shoes, Clothing, Bags, Grips, Strings & Accessories seem good. I've used the former and would recommend them, and I've heard good things about the latter.

If you can, try and find a local independent racquet shop and wander in to ask for advice and get a feel for the racquets.

+1 for buying a Yonex.  I have a Yonex 65LT Isometric which, IIRC, I paid £25 for.  It's a plenty good enough raquet for my ability.  And I'm not bad! ;)

Welcome to the forum - but a hint, it's a good idea t lopk at the date of the last post in a thread before contributing. I think 14 years of a gap is possibly the longest ever!
