Tonight we're having turkey meatballs in a tomato and chilli sauce.  I may do some courgetti to go with them.

I made my own Waldorf salad yesterday. About to have it with Ikea hot dog and jacket potato on the front step for my daily sunshine ration
Where did you find Waldorfs in this time of rationing ?

Chicken Kiev, with some of our wild garlic leaves in the "stuffing". Maybe salad, maybe purple sprouting broccoli, depends what the farm shop has, and saute potato.

Well, it'll be another bridie, but with a slight difference. Having run out of mince & bacon, MrsT minced up a couple of kangaroo steaks and saucisses de Lorraine for the filling.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Tonights gourmet creation, half an onion, half a red pepper & some sliced tomato. Add a tin of sardines & mash them up, chilli flakes to taste,  mix with penne pasta..

Tonight was just a salad, tomorrow will be liver, bacon and onion with cauliflower cheese (with added ham, wild garlic leaves and garlic), plus peas.

At the weekend I cooked a large pan of chicken thighs, with onion, red peppers, diced chorizo, garlic, chilli, butter beans & tomatoes.   2nd portion tonight.

Soup, of broccoli, celeriac and copious parsley from the garden. Its self seeded into the cracks in the patio and I have more than I know what to do with.

A salad of poached chicken, just-hard boiled eggs, lettuce, new potatoes, and a sprinkling of anchovy and wild garlic.

Lentil, bacon & carrot soup, if D gets the saucepan out.

Might follow that with a Mr Kipling's fruit pie & custard.

We were intending a barbecue, but it's too windy outside, so it will be pork chops cooked on a ordinary grill.

The first of the seasons asparagus, followed by “fish and chips”; pan fried salmon fillet and home made oven chips, with peas and broccoli.

On Saturday I bought a large organic/free range chicken with a yellow sticker in M&S.  It was roasted with a tangerine shoved up it's bum as I forgot to get lemons.

That did me for Saturday night,  Monday night & snacks & lunches.   There was still a whole breast left today, so at lunchtime that was diced, the carcass chopped up & it all went into the pot to simmer for the rest of the day with carrots, celery & onions.   I chucked a couple of cups of rice in to soak up the stock & left it a bit longer.    Not bad , could have used more herbs.  But there is still another portion in the pot.  I'll be clucking soon.

BBQ

I went out for the first time in three weeks yesterday (Mrs Pcolbeck has been doing the shopping as she is out anyway working some days in a school) to pickup an order from Castle Howard farm shop. So now have a choice of nice stuff to BBQ. Decisions decisions, lamb chops, burgers ? Spatchcock chicken for Saturday night definitely.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Baked pollack, chard, peas, parsley sauce and Jersey Royals.

We're also having fish and potatoes, but deep-frying them, the former in beer batter.

Didn't remember to get mushy peas in, so will have to go with petit pois.

Did remember to get some gherkins in though!

It was pretty good, thanks. But I've decided that the peppry kick of the pesto is somewhat subdued and therefore wasted on pasta.
What I think would be really nice is a poncy cheese sarnie with some pesto slathered on it...

Had, but flounder. First time, very nice. Part of a “pot luck” fish box ordered via Foodchain from Sole of Discretion, a small co-op in Plymouth. We’ve still got gurnard to go.

Spag bol. I'm going to try to get the ragu soft enough that Mrs n can eat it. She's reduced to eating non-chewy things since the lockdown cos broken tooth and lack of available dentistry. We've been having a lot of liquidised soups and various mashed veg (spuds, swede, celeriac). I can't make her watch me tuck into a pizza or something while she has her gruel so I've been joining her in this exploration of sloppy nosh.
There's no vibrations, but wait.

We are planning industrial quantities of chicken dhansak this evening. I ordered a consignment of freezer meat from some organisation a while back and there were 2 packs of chicken breasts in there, each pack 2.6kg. I've defrosted one of the packs, so we will make a monster amount of curry tonight and put a load in the freezer. I have a lovely recipe thanks to a Slimming World book I bought when I went to them. All from basic ingredients.
