Was out on the turbo earlier, felt the need to take the hit of running the 1.5kw portable oil filled radiator.

Las tmo th Bill was a frightener, this week might bump off the rest of my summer credit building.

Realised after talking to my son that Bristol is now the Frozen North. About zero here, "between 5 and 10" for him. He's in Cornwall – sub-tropical, I hear Floridians go there for the winter.

I can't see me cycling to work this week. I'm only supposed to be in the office for three days per week and the forecast is for freezing or below for the commute times Monday to Wednesday.

We had an actual of -6C, and frost so hard on the car I could barely get through it. At the top of Tring Hill, a mere mile and a half away, and maybe 30m higher, -1C.

Thought for an horble few minutes this arvo that the boiler had come out in sympathy with the NHS but it seems to have bucked its ideas up a bit and the working radiators are properly hot again.

We have had an almost continual rise in atmospheric pressure over the past week, from a low of 979.7mbar, on 16/01/23 at 06:21:01 to 1037.4mbar on 23/01/23 at 20:09:01.

Had a very odd switch. Overnight it went from 'hovering-about-zero' with snow showers (and several inches of snow on the ground) to absolutely no snow and 8-10C.
