Well, it's currently raining, but there is still plenty of snow laying about.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

was -7 in the cambridge 'burbs at 5.30 this morning, and quite icy where the drains are blocked and roads flooded through granchester.  The river was b. e. a utiful as the sun came up in Ely, although as one of the rowers is a bit splashy, this is the rigger behind her after a 90 minute paddle :D

That's a point, whatever happened to Riggers?

Cripes it’s chilly here in Leafy Bucks. Met office -3. Oh really? Accuweather -7. That’s more like it. Beautiful and windless.

Turned a lot milder up here. Most of the ice has melted.

Realised after talking to my son that Bristol is now the Frozen North. About zero here, "between 5 and 10" for him. He's in Cornwall – sub-tropical, I hear Floridians go there for the winter.

I can't see me cycling to work this week. I'm only supposed to be in the office for three days per week and the forecast is for freezing or below for the commute times Monday to Wednesday.

"No matter how slow you go, you're still lapping everybody on the couch."

I have not commuted since Christmas sadly. The risk/ reward ratio is just too skewed at present.

I'm hoping to get out tomorrow, if the forecast has not changed for the colder.
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

In the nearby town of Hochfelden:

The wind chill is -7°C this morning.
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight

Ventusky recon the perceived temperature is -9°C in Waltham Cross this morning.

We had an actual of -6C, and frost so hard on the car I could barely get through it. At the top of Tring Hill, a mere mile and a half away, and maybe 30m higher, -1C.

In 20 years of living in this house, tonight is going to be the second time I've left the CH running all night.
(The first time was last week)
It's fucking freezing.

Thought for an horble few minutes this arvo that the boiler had come out in sympathy with the NHS but it seems to have bucked its ideas up a bit and the working radiators are properly hot again.

Pingu said the weather was upside down when we watched it on C4 earlier. Makes a change for us to be metaphorically sitting around in our pants...

TV's Kate Kinsella says it ent going to be as cold tonight in London’s famous London as it was last night but frankly I'm not sure I believe her.

The Winterless North. Perhaps the poles have swapped and we're now in the Southern Hemisphere?

9C here

Had a very odd switch. Overnight it went from 'hovering-about-zero' with snow showers (and several inches of snow on the ground) to absolutely no snow and 8-10C.
