The front mech that came with my recently bought MTB frame is knackered so I need a new one. It's an old XTR M974.
I don't want to get XTR spendy so am looking for something a little cheaper, but am not too familiar with current kit..
8sp chain, top pull, 28.6m fitting and I'll be using it with an SRAM front shifter.
Can I use a 9sp mech ? What does Top Swing mean ?
