OK you probably seen my posts on setting up a better workstation for home and work computers. It has all been going well so far until about an hour ago when my acer K222HQL monitor suddenly said inout not detected. Cue usual investigations. Check updates (all up to date) run myasus app diagnostics - all ok. Chack HDMI cables are in was obviiously first check, they were and I tried a second cable and nothing there neither. I tried hooking up my old laptop to my monitor and it worked with both HDMI cables I tried.
What gets me was that I have been using my monitor with my laptop closed ok since this morning until an hour ago when it went off. Turned everything off and on again - well an IT standby had to be tried.
i have gone into settings, control panel and used verious help centres for the ACER monitor and my ASUS laptop. One thing with the control panel is that I cannot see anything refering to HDMI in there. expanded everything and the four letters HDMI is not there.
Anyone got a clue what has happened, changed and how to fix it. Nothing is showing in any troubleshooter such as windows 11 one ( due to be removed) or the MyASUS app diagnostics.
What is the point of setting up my workstation with a personal external monitor when myh HDMI does not talk to myh monitor? The laptop was bought in June this year and has been registered with ASUS. So if faulty I should still be under warranty.
So does anyone have a clue what I can do to investigate and hopefully sort this.
One lasst point the monitor is powered and works with the same cables with another laptop so it does appear to me to be related ot my ASUS Vivobook 15 laptop, drivers or OS.
