Has the new batch of ACME jerseys arrived from the supplier yet ? If so, I'll bring along some cash to the SAE event tomorrow.

They are also dry as well as lovely and new.  ;D  a great improvement on the way home after a soggy Stansted Express yesterday!

I need to do a 200 for my RRtY - looking at 22nd or 23rd if I can - is anyone interested? Need to clear with the family first but I think i could do one of those days.

Yes ... either of those days, unless family stuff occurs. Dick Turpin's Day Out 200km?

(Edit) Saturday's forcast is wet and very windy, Friday's is just windy in the morning with an increasingly strong westerly in the afternoon, so a westward heading Bricks and Moretaine 200km would make sense, so we'd at least get a good push home! Reversing the route works well, heading east from Dunmow to Braintree first. What start time would you be looking at, Nick?

Fantastic - let's do the Bricks & Moretaine as I have not yet done that one and the tailwind will be very welcome! I can start anytime - when do you fancy? May bring my new bike, which arrived TODAY!! Friday, I am almost certain I can do. Will confirm tonight.

You might want to keep an eye on that weather forecast.  The wind is now down to arrive a bit earlier and with Saturday looking by far the better day, going by the BBC forecast at least.

Met Office saying the wind is the same but wetter on Sat. Who knows?!

I am just entering my events into the AUK calendar now (better late than never!) But nothing in September from ACME Suffolk Branch.

I am up for another Dutch trip  :).

ACME event dates in the AUK calendar for that time of year....
August 17th - Hopstock
September 14th - Essex R&R (route check weekend of 31st August)
September 21st - ACME Grand

So there is Dutch sized hole in first to second week of September

Thanks both. That feels like it's directing the Dutch trip to be:

Out: Sailing on Wed 4th Sept at 23:00
Back: Sailing on Sun 8th Sept at 22:30

Will suggest train assist if anybody isn't available for the full excursion and wants to join midway.

RE: ACME goes Dutch 2024

I have put my holiday requests in for next year.

Planning to book the ferry over the Christmas break.

So just wanted to confirm that the dates above are confirmed before I spend the money?

"Out: Sailing on Wed 4th Sept at 23:00
Back: Sailing on Sun 8th Sept at 22:30."

Confirmed those are the dates. I’ll post a few more details in the ACME goes Dutch thread later today.

Re: B&M 200 - Saturday is forecasted a merely moderate westerly breeze with some sun, as against gusty winds (up to 43mph) and some rain tomorrow. I'll take the Saturday option. I've done the final gardening session of the year yesterday, been for the big food shopping trip (blown the year's Co-op divi this morning, which loaded up the bike somewhat!), so the holidays can start whenever I feel like it.

07:00 start from Dunmow?

Merry Christmas ACME chums!

Best present so far, the 2024 Buses Yearbook (from #1 son). Some may know it was that birthday earlier this month.  ::-)

Today I have been hanging a little exhibition of ten of my paintings at the Spirtual Home.

They'll be there all of February, maybe longer ...

Has anybody ridden one of the Friday Nights to the Coast rides? Just looking at the 2024 calendar and quite fancy the ride down to Shoreham. I think Jibbers has, anybody else also?
