Here’s an exciting way to support Steve Abraham’s “oneyeartimetrial”.

Just enter the Cheltenham Flyer 200km or Cider with Rosie 150km or Character Coln 100km on Sat 14 March 15. Start at Andoversford VH going S across the Cotswolds into Wiltshire. Quiet, scenic (rivers, villages) and great Controls (provided by local folk) for cakes/tea/soup/ etc. Great way to shake off the Winter excess?

Min of 50% of Event cash surplus will go towards TeethGrinder’s phenomenal bid. I would invite Steve to ride for free but the courses are too lumpy and would slow him down.

Erica and I will be doing the 200km Flyer on our yellow tandem having warmed up with the KVR the week before. We've never done this ride before, but I think much of the countryside will be familiar. It looks like a good route.

Nice idea to support Steve, too.

It is a good route. An excellent one, in fact. I'll be there hopefully.

I have been busy riding the 150 and 200km routes. We are back on the Fosse after Grittleton. Big change is a new Control in Fernham Church, rather than Uffington. Good news is that the Uffington (now +Fernham) WI are still doing your cakes. Please let me know which Hall you prefer.

Parking could be tight (160 entries!), so please be prepared to divert to the Station Road in the village.

I am riding the 100 on Friday, using the 'ridewithgps' route I sent out. If it does not work I will send out my track of the day to the CC100 guys.

Cheers and thanks Steve---yes I did miss this earlier thread, fallen off bottom of list.

Really hoping I'll be well for this, I've been off work all week with a bug.
Common sense tells me to give it a miss and recover 100% but I'm suffering from cabin fever already and could do with a good day out, which the 200 was last year.

I didn't receive any email - better check my spam folder. Looked on the website and the route there for the 200k looks like last year's. Has it changed then, as I better update my gpx if it has. And am I in?

Sorry folks, Mr Thickie alert and entirely my own fault for not moving with the times. I've received the email for the 200 with the gps track, but I haven't got the foggiest how to load it up onto my Garmin.

If I can't work it out, I'm tempted to go with the one James Bradbury put out on the other thread http://ridewithgps.com/routes/7079010, even though it differs (slightly) from the latest update.

Upload the downloaded file provided by 3 peaker in his email;  upload into ridewith gps. Save the file into routes on rwgps

THEN export file of type you want eg track, route according to Garmin you have--RWGPS has info against each file type as to what`s best.

Attach Garmin to USB port on computer and load the rwgps downloaded file into appropriate folder ---ie a .tcx file as provided by 3peaker would go into a 705 courses folder, a .gpx track goes into an Etrex .gpx folder etc. Hope this is vaguely clear, info on Garmin type would assist !!

I'm out, still not well enough, the Bairdy Rolls Royce Merlin only firing on 8 of it's 12 cylinders.
I've lost 4lbs this week, presumably in snot.  :o
Have fun on the ride, it's a cracker.

Many thanks for the above. I've just read this out to my son who tells me that it all makes perfect sense. Now, where did I leave my abacus . . . . . .

I'm out too.  Just didnt feel too good last night so went to bed early.  Feeling a lot better again this morning and kicking myself now though.

Will look forward to reading the various reports later and will probably ride it as a Perm in the Summer.

Enjoy.

I still feel rotten, no way I could ride today, I had about two hours kip.
All my Audax mates are either on The Cheltenham Flyer or riding Nik Peregrine's Gospel Pass 150 and I'm here with a one way ticket to Palookaville and a head full of snot.
The consolation perm isn't looking good for tomorrow either.  :'(

Think I met the riders this morning: I was grinding my way up Seven Barrows as they were flying down. Far more friendly bunch than the other riders I met today who were obviously "training".

Hope you feel better soon, Bairdy. And, if it's any consolation, I have it on good authority that you are not the only one who didn't make it to the start today (and I was on hospital transport duties, but never intended to ride today...).

Lovely day out.

Set off with the intention of hammering it for a bit then dying. Plan worked out perfectly, was 4th man in to the halfway control, then sat there and waited for Brian to arrive to tow me all the way home.

Wanted to ride this one for a while and was going to but when Ireland were on for win in the 6 Nations I decided not to. Wish I had now as I wouldn't have had to watch Wales dump them   But best game of the Championship so far, well done Wales. Currently watching a cracking Calcutta match with Scotland giving England a hard time though England have now stretched a 7pt lead.

Another grand event. Thanks to Stephen, Mark and all the helpers that supported this event.  Without you involvement, audaxes would never happen and participants should be thankful.

The route is certainly a tough old cookie but despite the nagging wind, the weather was good for March, allowing us to enjoy the Cotswolds and downlands around Lambourn.

Don't worry, Bairdy, I had a terrible lurgy back in December, didn't ride for 4 weeks, but you can claw your way back to fitness.

Thanks to Steve and helpers for arranging a great event, with a lovely route. One of the best for scenery - we especially enjoyed the first 50 km. Thanks also to the other full value riders who chatted to us along the way.
