The dress looks blue and gold to me. As for Kims link the first pattern is reasonably clear, the second very indistinct.

To me, the dress looks a dullish gold and a bluey white. No black.

The patterns, I can see them but they are indistinct.

I see it as washed-out blue and $generic_poo_colour, but it's clear from context that it's horrendously overexposed, and most real-world blacks turn into something random if you cook the signal enough.

I can't, apart from the bottom edge of the first one.

The first is I think a 6 - it's very faint (ah yes, it is) The second, not a sign of it for me.

I can clearly some of the first one, and could tell it was a

, and could just about make out the

in the second.

According to that, I have some red-green colourblindness. Strange, as I've never encountered it in the typical spotty tests.

Anecdatally, the second one seems to be more visible to people with normal colour perception on the right (?wrong) monitors.  But it really sticks out to me.

I found the first of those easier to distinguish, though on looking at the second I first thought it might be a stylised

then that I could pick out the lower part of a

Neither of them stood out: FWIW the only time I've had my colour vision tested as an adult I showed very slight signs of red/green colour blindness.

I could see neither, with either eye.
My father is red/green colour-blind and the colour vision in my left eye is shot from optic neuritis.

I thought the colour perception in my right eye was normal thobut.

Terribly sorry about that.  I'm sure the underpaid intern who cut&pasted the press release, as his dreams of becoming a journalist withered, and he died a bit inside, would have valued your critique.

There was a lot of discussion on the radio here before the eclipse about the worries about the grid as there is so much solar round here. In the event it was a massively foggy day so I assume that affected it much more than the short eclipse!

It's the shortness of the eclipse that's the real issue.  It's dead easy to bring other power sources on stream in response to gradual changes in availability caused by weather and day/night, but the eclipse meant *all* the solar dropped out and came back again relatively quickly (compared to the time taken for a coal power station to get going).
