Ah, it's gone back to being The Warwickshire Lad. It had a spell as The Royal Oak, IIRC. It was half decent. The Coach & Horses at Weatheroak Hill isn't that far away & is/was vastly superior in most respects.

Other than being at the bottom of a bloody great hill which puts me off going there.

Although the Weather Oak ales are v. good.  And it's the last pub that I know of that still(?) has a tray of cheese and onion or ham and tomato cobs behind the bar.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

I'm not sure I could swell to great, I'm afraid. ;D

Incidentally, I have heard tales from organists who would have loved a switch to change the choir to great ;)

I missed a trick recently. For some reason I never noticed that a local takeaway was named "tj's" until a couple of weeks ago.

I thought "I must remember to take a picture of that for the thread . . ."

It closed the next day and the sign was gone.

Story of my life, really.

Aw no!  There's no chance of my getting up there in time.

I'll have to wait till they're playing near me                               to leave town.
