Replacement Manometer fir fit pump
« on: 13 July, 2021, 09:07:44 pm »
Just dropped my footpump on the presssure gauge which has resulted in it not reading very well after refitting it.
Had a look at wots available and can't figure out how to work out which size BSP I need.
I thought it was 8mm due to the plastic thread measuring at 7.8ish but discovered that because the B stands for British it's actually stated in some weird combination of letters and quote marks.

Yes I know replacing the gauge on a 12 quid double barrelled footpump is probably a bit much but I don't see the point in lobbing 12 quid away or suffering the mix of bunging the hole and constnatly checking with other type of manometer like the handheld digital one I have for my bicycle.

Anyone sufficiently knowledgeable to assist?

I'm no expert but I have a little knowledge because some fittings on my classic Triumph motorcycles are BSP - usually 1/4.

This site gives the BSP sizes - if you are sure the manometer is BSP then maybe it's 1/16?  The size refers to the bore size not the thread.  British motorcycle fuel taps are usually 1/4 BSP.
