About 4" square, to the side of the WC in each cubicle.  There is a row of air holes at the top of the recess.  What's it for?  Is it an ashtray?  This has always been a no smoking site since it was built.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

My bold.
Air holes?
Or eyeball holes?

It’s the employers making you feel self conscious so you don’t start behaving like George Michael in the cubicle.

It is simpler than it looks.

Look down, dear boy!  ;D

They could be for exposing dribbles from overflows.
It is simpler than it looks.

Johnny Thin posted a prostate-stroking technique for avoiding such things.

If someone is going to examine your prostrate I think it only fair to wear a Sooty outfit to play my part.

For exposing dribbles.

Your little orifice does sound like it’s part of a tun dish arrangement. With back to wall loos the cistern is hidden so they invent spy facilities to spot when there is an overflow issue.
Or it might be somewhere to hide carefully folded micro-grumble materials.

Since rogerzilla started this thread, I’m inclined to think there’s a grumble reason, rather than it being an uncontrolled drip issue.
It is simpler than it looks.

Not for hiding geocaches in then?

Has anyone tried inserting something into one of the holes?

Given there is not much furniture in a toilet cubicle, what do you suggest he uses as a prodding stick?

The holes are only a couple of mm in diameter, so even Donald Trump would touch the sides.

Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

Of Trump’s wedding tackle or the holes?

Or both?
