B-Day
« on: 04 July, 2008, 11:20:59 am »
B-Day is confirmed for 15th July!  I'm so excited!   ;D

As I haven't had the change to do any miles on the penny, I'll probably be taking Naked Mister Foldyflaps on Dunwich.

Mine was ordered a couple of days before yours...fingers crossed.  I need it for a holiday in late July.

I may well use mine.  I might just be at the end of a training Macro Cycle or something, but I felt far too weak today to manage it on fixed.  I'm happy with the dynohub wheel after giving it another going-over this morning.

If you bring yours  ;)

Plan A is to ride the Frankendale, which is fixed, but I'm going to get to Dunwich way too early for Chris N to buy me breakfast.

Damn right.  Be interesting to compare fixed from the last couple of years to singlespeed.

Mrs LWaB did her first >100 mile ride and first night ride with a Dunwich Brommie ride a few years back.

Hmmm - it's something I would do, definitely.  I've seen people do it on Bromptons and it's not such a daft choice.

But Liz and I have the new tandem and we can't not ride that, really.  Mind you, a Brommie would mean no problems jumping the train at Darsham...

We're going well at the moment, that's for sure.  But what we were thinking about is having an eyeballs-out, "let's embarass Roger" dash to the feed stop, followed by a leisurely eight cups of tea and a couple of plates of stodge.

By which time, Team Slow and Team Redintheface will have caught us up and we can tow you all to the seaside for breakfast.  How does that sound?

The only sadness is that because we're racing the following weekend, it's no Astana Beans for us.  There's a chance that we might get tested and we'll light up the drugs test computer like Oxford Street at Christmas if we're muching the good Herr Doktor's sweeties all the way to Dunwich...

That's as maybe, but at least neither of us wears knickers under our cycling shorts and has to get permission from Mummy to go as far as Dunwich.
