I have produced a PROPOSED ROUTE which the Witham peloton might like to follow to the Jolly Sailor, Heybridge Basin tomorrow evening.

Jolly Sailor is not open tomorrow night - it's the staff post summer outing, they have stand in staff booked but they are only due to work 'til 9.00pm.

They are normally open 'til trade winds down, if we want to turn up around 9.00 best to phone up and warn them in case its a quiet evening - not much late night tourist trade at a coastal pub in the cooler months. They will happily stay open if we justify the extra effort.

How about a Witham night? Spoons have their beer festival on.
It might also help the curry night fund.
Plenty of good rides for the area and central for everyone.
And it has been a long while since the last Witham night.
If Andy brings Jane's fixed I might even have a go

Plus there are plenty of other pubs in the Maldon / Heybridge area. There’s even the other Heybridge Basin pub.  Not that I mind where we go.

I think that’s settled it.  Rather than someone do a route shall the Witham peloton just follow its collective nose?

Bugger, I'm still banned from Shitham.

I'll have to sneak in, incognito after dark!

I’ll meet you just outside the town and lend you my pink wig and associated gubbins.  You can do that hiding in plain sight thing!

That's very kind OD, but I'm a bit worried about being mistaken for your good self.

Wednesday night is dogging night and I don't want to be scooped up, chucked into the back of a bemattressed van and rogered senseless.

Not tonight anyway.

I will probably be putting in an appearance, along with Acorn#1.  She's volunteering at Brownies earlier, though, so I doubt We'll be at Spa Rd RBT at 7:30 - we'll be doing a loop of approx 1 hour, hopefully landing at the 'Spoons sometime before 9.

The advantage of the 'Spoons location is that I can then ride home with her and make it back to the pub to join for the raucous part of the evening :)

Because of a misunderstanding at work (boss forgot that I go home) it’s doubtful I’ll be at spar road on time. I should be at The Spoons at 9 though.
