“Shittens!” exclaimed Mr Larrington on looking at the small print in the bumf he got sent by BRITISH Airways this arvo.  “It's an A380, which means clearing immigration at SFO will likely take three hours instead of the 90 minutes it took in 2022!”

It was heading roughly NE when it passed over Larrington Towers some time shortly after midday.  I may have heard it earlier too before going out into the Big Room.

I visited my Mum today.
She had just collected the mail from her mailbox when she collected me from the taxi.
There were half a dozen leaflets from various election candidates. These must have arrived AFTER the election on 2 May.
Mum might not collect her mail EVERY day but she won’t have left it a fortnight.

What a waste of paper/money/hot air!

Royal Mail leaves me underwhelmed...

'Full value’ riders are rather more likely to get closer to their ‘MUST SLEEP’ threshold.

An 8am start might mean getting up at 6, riding for most  of the 12+ hours after 8am and arriving exhausted, dry & hungry, just as the sun is setting.

I can quite see that driving immediately after a 200 might not be a wise choice...

My dear friend, the Rev.Enid, a methodist minister, has been celebrating her 70th birthday today. She has just posted the following on Facebook.

Quote
Thankyou everyone for my birthday good wishes. 70 is just as good as 69!!××

Take it from me, people, that the double entendre within that sentence is completely unintentional. Which makes it very amusing indeed.
