I'd also like to learn how to recell batteries etc. Or at least how to open Dinotte cases and where to buy decent cells to replace stuff with.

I'm having the meeting where I can suggest a skills share weekend thing on Wednesday.

If anyone's got any misgivings about appropriating a public event [earlier post] for a round of skills sharing, it would be really good to hear them...

Ooh I can do archery.  ;D But I doubt I could teach it.  :-[
My work skills.. umm... a bit tricky to teach folks to fly.
Any way, rarely get weekends off.  :-[

This is a really great idea and hope it kicks off.

Go for it Nikki.
This looks like a popular theme. I think we will have to have a series of events catering for different subjects and locations.
Sam, I will be in the smoke over the weekend 8/9th june, any chance of meeting up to see your venue and have a chat?

Consider it a warm-up for the one involving a camp fire and the one involving your garage (others too, by the looks of it!) :)

I used to teach archery, back in about the 14th Century (well, the mid-80s).  Might be able to help out with that.

I promise, if I come I will refrain from cutting fingers of English archers.  ;D

Actually, I would quite like to have a go.

When it comes to teaching I'm very unconfident in my abilities at the moment but no doubt once things start happening I'll recover the mojo as it's pretty much what I used to do.

I am teaching lorry drivers how to ride bicycles that weekend, so won't be able to come along and teach cyclists how to juggle then....but maybe another time.

What on earth, not to mention where, is The Public? I think it was mentioned before but in such a way that it seemed to refer to people (to me at any rate).

It's a confusingly named exhibition/performance/multipurpose space type thing in West Bromwich.  It's the sort of building that's brilliant if you want to win awards for architecture (it really is quite spectacular), and somewhat less brilliant for actually getting things done in (DAHIKT).

Yeah, sorry, will be a bit vague until I know for sure we've got the venue booked for that day. Then I'll be all overly-organised at everyone and probably start a new thread or something.

I showed my Rutland camping photos to a friend who's rattling around a large house post kids flying the nest sort of thing. He's offered use of spare rooms and floors etc, so one way or another we can probably house forum folks in Birmingham (about 9 miles ride from the venue, or a selection of buses and/or trams)
