Absolutely inspirational piano teacher and, too briefly, concert pianist. Founder of the Leeds Piano Competition and author of an excellent piano teaching book series. Her "Piano Lessons Book 1" remains, in my view, the best book for a beginner of pretty well any age. She wrote this in collaboration with Marion Harewood, who later married Jeremy Thorpe.

She continued to oversee "The Leeds" until she was 95.

There was a documentary I think about her a few years ago I seem to remember watching or maybe it was just a special on local news here (this being Yorkshire). A remarkable and formidable woman.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

She taught a very good friend (and student) of mine who left music for some years to be an RAF pilot, but returned to it when she left the RAF 10 years ago, and is now a West End musical director - and unemployed. I think Inga was in the documentary you reference, Pat. Her bit was filmed when she was 8 or 9, so well over 40 years ago.
