I caught this on a music podcast, and it really grabbed me. I love the mix of choral, whoops and all kinds of stuff. Track two is my lockdown soundtrack: https://youtu.be/mUfeDpf5kJk

I agree with The Dead South recommendation, the Spotify playlist has become part of my cycling soundtrack.

After watching far too much Anthony Bourdain programs, I have come to like (via his one on Berlin) The Brian Jonestown Massacre (especially Anemone).

Having seen them live, I'd vote for Alasca and Holy Moly and the Crackers (two more different acts you couldn't want, really)

One last one, I absolutely love the music of Rosalia.
I feel like Captain Kirk, on a brand new planet every day, a little like King Kong on top of the Empire State

Katy J Pearson. The voice is reminiscent of Stevie Nicks, the sound is upbeat jangly guitar pop with a motorik rhythm. Presses a lot of buttons for me.

Currently getting a lot of airplay on 6music, Take Back The Radio - I've got this stuck on repeat in my head right now:

But for sheer life-affirming joy, you can't beat the video to the track she released late last year, Tonight:

Another one if you like a good pop video, Beginning by LA Priest:

As noted in the comments, it might look a tad familiar if you ever saw Depeche Mode's video for Enjoy the Silence, just with a pointier hat.

Most importantly, it's a really great song too.

Musically, one of the most interesting artists around right now is BC Camplight. His current album, Shortly After Takeoff, is great but his last one, Deportation Blues, is amazing - here's a track off it:

He does songs about being an American immigrant living in Manchester. The cultural references are highly endearing. The tunes are great too.

The new Wilma Archer album, Western Circular, is very very good indeed.

Cheater, a collaboration with Sudan Archives, is a good example of what to expect from the rest of the album:

Strange but in a really good way. Love the quirky brass sound.

Wintergatan - https://music.youtube.com/channel/UCLFMX5KXvYScjRJ7ccDkOYg

Their music is ok, kinda jolly, but it is more the tech/instruments they are using for/in their music. And do watch the build videos of the Marble Machine X they are making atm to take with them on their next tour, it is cool to see how it's build up - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVbh_FEiF2E

If you like a bit of Siouxsie and the Banshees, then Savages,
Shame I came to them late and they seem to be on hiatus now.

It's a reissue, but I could become slightly obsessed with this album.

It is pretty astonishing, it grabbed me with the mariachi-style trumpet wailing over the top of all the other instruments (I'm not sure what you call the thing that sounds like a monkey being scraped down a blind).

Occasionally the fusion is a bit much and doesn't quite work for me - but imagine how many hours of jams they compressed down to three quarters of an hour.
