And not the only one. I see Alec Salmond has happened upon a ticket to centre court as well.

That's 2013's SPotY sorted, then.

No, the queen will win it. Tennis players only had to wait 60-odd years. The reigning monarch has never before owned the winner in a particular 207-year-old horse race whose name escapes me for a moment.

;D  I would actually watch the SPOTY programme if the Queen was shotlisted.  What a hoot!
;D  Andrij.  I pronounce you Complete and Utter GIT

Feel sorry for everyone stuck behind him in the bar queue though, when the bar staff won't take his Scottish notes.

I hope the Beeb have the decency to cancel it to save money. It'll be most one-sided contest since Herod took on those babies.

Or Froomey buggered, whichever way you look at it.

Is going to be a gushing week for the Daily Mail, with the Lions, Murray the Celt and a royal baby.

I wouldn't put the Daily Mail in the recycling bin, in case it gets recycled, and comes back in the future.

Anyone who wishes to do so may nominate me as SPOTY.

Yesterday, after our final group stop before the summit, I set off before everyone else. I can't remember who it was who said "There's no 'King of the Mountains' award, you know". I retorted "I only want King of the Breakfasts".

So, this season I have:-

York to Hull
Cambridge to Southend
London to Whitstable
Northallerton to Darlington via Tan Hill

My Dun Run bid will make it 5 overnight rides over the summer. Andy fecking Murray hasn't managed that.

I think YACF should nominate her as loyal subjects. Which, in a way, excludes your good self, Andrij.  ;)

True, he hasn't. But you haven't won the Olympics and two grand slams. So it's probably a tie.

The Graun has a "Was this Britain's finest ever sporting moment?" poll.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/poll/2013/jul/07/andy-murray-wimbledon-won

Was it bollocks. It was good, but it wasn't even Britain's finest sporting moment this weekend.

I think you need to add Mordor to Banbury to your night ride list.

That last set was some of the most athletic tennis I've ever seen.  They were all over the place!

There should be a rule that a huge rally ending in a drop shot should also require a sneer and a twirl of moustache.
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

They can twirl their taches too :-)

As luck would have it, I was out riding a DIY 200 today in the heat of the sun.
I came to Banchory in need of water and ice-cream, and went into the sweetie shop for both.

They had a wee TV showing the tennis, and I arrived just as he gained advantage for the last time.
So I stayed in the shop eating my ice-cream for 5 mins and saw the win, without having to hide behind the sofa for the rest of it!
