Anyone seen it yet? Opinions?
-
The boys and I saw it last week. It was good. Recommend it. They loved it.
-
I saw it this week with the bairns and the delightful Butterfly.
It was okay, I suppose. Superstoker enjoyed it (and he's read the books), but I felt it was a bit formulaic and rather twee...
-
Okay okay, I have no idea what twee or formulaic mean, and I can't be arsed to look them up as I don't think they are words I will need to use or remember, however I will admit to being the sort of guy that goes to the movies to be entertained. I don't mind if there is no plot. I prefer action to tears. I have not read the books and don't plan on doing so now ( actually I can't once I've seen the movie first as the books are generally better for me when I fill in the gaps with my eyesight and imagination ).
It was a fun film and the rugrats enjoyed it.
They are 6 and 11.
They didn't want to see the Golden Compass - and I didn't want to see that Dr Seus meets the Woah or whatever it is. ;D

I saw the film last weekend with my daughter (9). We are fans of the books. The film is a pared down version of books 1,2 and 5 IIRC. I thought the film formulaic too, and much more violent and with no charm compared with the books. ::)
On the other hand, my daughter loved it.

LOL, I was peering at the back of a pack of cereal, and realised that it had a free copy of "Goblins Attack"; "A Special Edition of The Seeing Stone". Since it's a kids book, it's pretty small, so shouldn't take me more than an hour (if that!) to go through, but I may now, just out of curiosity!

Mr Charly,
Did you go and see it in the end?
Did you think it was formulaic too?
-
Nah, didn't see it. I wasn't feeling well, so spent the day crashed out on sofa.
