Definitely a Rogers back axle.  Yes, it's probably Rogers through and through.

Or a rebuild of a bike frame, which is what mine is.

Anyone know what this is?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250320259946&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123

I see that someone called Charlotte is asking questions on there. I wonder....

::-)

IF this is you ... I have some info on Ken Rogers here somewhere (and the original bill or quote for mine) ...he was at Feltham or somewhere there - AFAIK he's riding in the sky now .... PM and I'll dig it out, scan and send to you.

Mine has an SKS front mudguard - I had new 700c rear wheels built on the special trike hubs, Mavic ?? rims, and got a stock mid-range front wheel.

Have to say mine is a cracking machine ... I just need to get round to riding it more.

For Charlotte's information, if its Rogers axle is like the one on the trike I had (and it looks the same), it will have a threaded boss for a screw-on freewheel. But this is not a problem - you can still get good Shimano 7-speed freewheels with Hyperglide sprockets, or as an alternative there are now IRD freewheeels.
Profit or planet?

Putting it on fixed would be as difficult as with a bike with vertical dropouts because it does not have an eccentric bottom bracket.

As noted earlier, the supplied drive boss will take a screw on block, but you can replace it with a cassette carrier from Trykit Lightweight Racing and Touring Tricycles and Conversions (look for 1wd adaptor).  Combine that with his gear hanger and indexing is now possible.

Ken built from his home in Hounslow, not far from the end of the runway.  Contrary to what was written a few posst back he is alive and kicking although retired from trike building.  I spoke to him at the TA dinner only a few weeks ago.

My apologies ... I was obviously mis-informed.

He lived at Cranford, so close to Heathrow that planes drowned conversation every couple of minutes.  He built all the bikes in his garage. It wasn't the most organised of places.

Or Sunrace now do some which have good ratios and match shimano indexing.  Not so easy to change though mine ended up in the vice with a 5lb club hammer persuading it to unscrew!  Now do I upset Charlotte and bid cos I don't have a Rogers -is there a law against having 4 trikes?

Perfect size for you, I'd say.  Thought you were onna one-in-one-out arrangement, though?

Besides - that's not a machine suited to inner-London apartment dwelling...

One bidder only, I haven't got a Fixie trike-yet (what an idea), I haven't got a Rogers, I live close to Oxford and could ride it back, when my van was written off I got £400 more than I paid for it, mrs Mtrike comes from Staines so there's a local connection, two of my other trikes are red, I like Suntour kit, HELP :hand:

I found a pic of my Ken Rogers (before I bought it) - now has aero levers with cables under the tape - as well as new (black rim) wheels
