Edge 1030 + Garmin external battery life
« on: 24 July, 2018, 12:57:20 pm »
So I rode 430km or so at the weekend using the new Edge 1030 + Garmin's external battery (which is specific to the 1030).

At the end of the ride, the Edge had 100% battery and the external battery showed two bars (of 4). I had the thing switched on the whole 400k event and for the 10k or so rides to and from it from the campsite.

So that is about 26 hours use.

Very happy with that. Far better performance than I'd been led to believe.

Rode 210k today with 1030 without battery pack - had 47% battery left when I finished which implies ~20hrs if used standalone. Impressive for such a full function device.

Yes same here - though battery use increases when I have the DI2 set to auto - I think there is a bit of a buggette in either the Garmin or DI2 where it keeps connecting and disconnecting resulting in a bit more usage than might be expected of the battery.

Overall - very happy with the 1030
