You can’t just call time out and stroll on into the beach if you don’t like the way things are goin’.

Although based on MTB tyres, an interesting video, which seems to confirm mine/Jibbers/others views

I think I was mostly influenced by Nik, Lynx and Malcolm towards Cafelatex.  It's only really let me down when it hasn't been there (i.e. the tyre was dry) - so user error rather than its fault.  I managed to seal the sidewall/bead puncture from last night - time will tell if it's useable. I've had bead punctures before and they are in an area which even when sealed can be prone to opening again if you hit an edge.

Yacht club sounds like a great idea.... Rowhedge also,  both similarly distant for me...

Do they do food (not oyster etc obviously ;) )

Yacht Club, West Mersea gets my vote - great summer venue. Jiberjaber - the Victory nearby will do food if the YC doesn't.

How's the tide for the Strood crossing? Getting near a full moon...

High tide is 23.56 so there will be plenty of water for a paddle if anyone fancies one.

I will aim to be at Spa to lead the way (from behind).

So I won't need mud guards then?

Not helpful..... I see its a tidal 2 hour window of coverage, so my reconning is it will be starting to get wet when we leave the pub?  If so I need to refit the guards to the fixed or bring a different bike.

The tide will not be over the road at any point tomorrow or, indeed Thursday.  Unless you know of some rain coming, you will be dry.

How about a weather and tide variable mudguard spreadsheet - or do  you have one already ?

Whilst I'm a fan of a data driven approach to things I think you need our resident BA on the case of that but he appears to be on his jollys in Wales this weekend :)

Afraid I'm in the US this week with work.

I'm thinking of Boudicea's Revenge though on Sunday, just in case anyone has a card and fancies a pootle. I'll be jet-lagged having got back Saturday afternoon, so it will be a genuine pootle...

I'm going to assume that "alpaca love in" is a euphemism for something unspeakable.
Anything to liven up this meeting.

I’d be interested in what people think between the std and large hunka.

I'll make my way offshore tomorrow then. It's a 30 mile trip or thereabouts, for me, probably arriving some time after 21:00.
