An(other) unusual, beer/brewery related, request....
« on: 05 October, 2016, 12:25:05 pm »
I have been trying to find a bunch of stickers to send over to my mate in Colorado, so he can decorate his beer fridge more (there is something in this for me, as he sends me stickers he gets from breweries in the US).  However, breweries seem to have an aversion, in the UK, to producing such things (or if they do they don't give them out, ever!).

I have spent the morning emailing a load of different breweries (both in Yorkshire and elsewhere), only one positive response so far (ironically enough it was from the brewery that produced the beer I enjoyed the most at the beer festival at the weekend!) and looking at Ebay to see that the scalpers want £1.50 for a sticker they would have got for free...

So I wonder if any of you guys can help? I am looking for beer stickers (not bottle labels), the more unusual the design/brewery the better. Anyone?

Of no use to you but, as an aside, I have just decorated the cupboards in my shed and the bike bunker with stikerage from Jagged Mountain and Great Divide breweries in Denver (my fave sticker is the Great Divide "We Believe" Big Foot one).

The Great Divide ones are ones I already have, along with Denver Beer Company, Lone Tree Brewery and numerous other from around the Denver, CO area (we were staying in Highlands Ranch, CO)

How about beer fridge magnets instead?
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

Glue the empty bottles to the fridge. It won't only just solve your problem, it'll make a strong interior design statement.

Well, why not collect those little metal bottle tops and nail them, upside-down, to the floor? This will give a sensation... of walking on little metal bottle-tops turned upside-down.

I knew it was a while ago, but I never thought it was nearly 2 years  ???

Anyway, these are from the pump labels at my local.  Any good to you?  (I'd love to hear an American trying to pronounce 'Cwrw'  ;D

If there any London breweries that you would like, such as mean time or fullers?

What about soaking off labels from bottles, and then sticking them on the fridge with wallpaper paste?

I regularly attend walks in the Black Country, which always involve a visit to at least one 'proper' pub.

Often in a corner of the bar there'll be a cardboard box full of spring clipped beer pull badges. The boxes are usually marked, "£1 each, money goes to charity".

This is probably the case in a lot of smaller, non-chain pubs. Sometimes a particular beer will be a one-time offer in a pub and the beer badge will never get used there again. you might even ask at your local and see if you can get a couple for free.

Perhaps something like that might be of interest to your friend?

Side note, I used to (and kinda still do) collect labels. But over the last few years they have either changed the the glue or to plastic or back to printing on cans. So now labels are nigh on impossible to take off, the old trick of some washing up liquid and hot water, don't cut it anymore.
