Our village's Development Association has a moribund web site  in  need of er, development.  Do any of you know of good examples of the same that are actually  useful for residents,  ex-residents and potential visitors?

To get traffic, attracting local hobbyists might help, e.g. anyone interested in local history, by offering them pages. It could also be worth offering to host pages for any local societies which lack websites of their own & might like one, e.g. an allotment or horticultural society.

Once you have a site which people use, it could attract others. Any useful information put on it would then have an audience, instead of being put on a noticeboard behind a curtain in a room nobody enters.
