OD: Can I have another pint?

Mrs OD: No - you've had enough!

OD: I'll ignore you all evening if you don't let me...

Mrs OD: Oh, go on then...but you'll get no sympathy from me in the morning.

Ahem!  My head is fine thank you.  As we were out on Wednesday night and we are out this lunch time and this evening  :o  with the Cubs  :o   :o  I decided to restrain myself and drank considerably less than some others

What a fun evening!  I have had The Current Mrs R out on the tandem TWICE this week and as far as I am concerned cycling doesn't come better than that!  Both last night and Wednesday were brilliant: great company, great beer, great riding, great pubs *, great beer and great weather.

And we have a new project to concentrate on - a S24O in January.  For those that are curious the weeing competition was part of the research for this chilly endeavour, not drunken antics, though it did get a little silly.

All in all a top night.  Looking forward to next Wednesday

* I thought The Norton as a building was uninspiring inside and out - merely functional really.  However, I think it is brilliant that the villagers came together to re-open the pub.  Everyone there was mega friendly and we should go back just to support them.  I hope more villages follow Cold Norton's lead.

A few things ...

Reg, taking the piss does come with responsibilities.  I hope you will be making strenuous efforts to attend one of these gigs in the very near future (not that we have one organised of course).  Better still, you need to be at our Christmas do.  Then you can take the piss in person

Secondly, I forgot to thank Del for his photos.  I'm not sure how you manage it but you always seem to capture the moment!

Thirdly, I mentioned a Suffolk eco pub with micro brewery and campsite on Friday night.  This is it.   I have dropped them an e-mail to see if their campsite is open in January for our proposed Sub 24 Hour Overnight.  I will keep you posted and set up a separate thread at some point.

Good news!  The campsite at The White Horse at Edwardstone is OPEN IN JANUARY!!!  Is it worth my starting a new thread???

Well, we could do something fairly mundane like meet at the White Hart, Margaretting Tye, or the Hoop, or maybe something more adventurous: train-assisted to Edwardstone (for example) and then cycle home after closing time?

I've got so many holidays coming up that dates might be difficult for me.

Purely on the basis that I have never been to the White Hart I am more than happy to agree this is the destination for our next pub ride.  I could ride to Chelmsford and get the train home.

What does everyone else think?

As I can't ride, what with having only one functioning arm, I'd be well up for a meet up at a pub in close proximity to a railway station/bus/taxi ride away etc....

That's problematic for me. It's not impossible - but we are coming home from Sconny Botland on a sleeper that morning and doing a WARTY on the Saturday. I think I might need my bed.
