........I think you are right.  On checking, the dates quoted (and copied) from the email I received from London Prepares look wrong.

Members of British Cycling (which i am not) get two days advance ticket buying (15th).

Does anyone belong to BC and would they like to disclose the promotional code to the rest of us?  :demon:

Not that simple - it seems you can only get into the booking section at Ticketmaster via the logged in BC membership area ... I just did and bought 6 tickets for Saturday daytime  ... looks like the BC tickets are only the £10 ones .. but we are in the 4th row on the exit from the first bend :-)

You've had better luck than me - I was trying from 9.10 and could not get 4 tickets for any of the sessions.

Hmm, have to say it was all a bit flaky and took 2 or 3 attempts to get into the buying bit ..... but I wonder how many tickets were really on offer? - after the general ticket fiasco it seems that everyone speaks with forked tongue.

Local residents can also, in theory, get tickets from today. I've tried several times since 10am today when they went on sale, but the site claims there are no tickets available in any of the slots. I find this hard to believe. Anyone else having luck?

No luck here either. Not even a single ticket for any sessions. Been trying since 9am. Have also tried local resident codes just to chance it, but no joy.

BC tell me to try later as more might become available.....

I wonder how many they were allocated though....

Any idea how we can find out how many tickets were allocated for local residents? 'Beat the rush' headlined the Hackney Gazette this week giving the impression that it would be a chance for locals to get access to the Olympic park on their doorstep. If all 'local' tickets were sold out within 1 minute of opening time, I suspect not many were ever available.

2? :demon:

I'm not a Hackney resident, but Tower Hamlets, which I *think* is also considered a local borough. However, we only seemed to get Handball and Goalball test event tickets. There were 1,235 of those available, as freebies.

I don't want to rub it in .... but I'm wondering how we're going to get to the Velodrome - Stratford underground station is at the other side of the Olympic Park ?   - and I wonder if trains from St Pancras will run to the Stratford International Station?

Just got 4 tickets for the Saturday evening session.  I think I was lucky (at last, didn't get any Olympic tickets, or the concession tickets via British Cycling) as I ticked the "best available" box and we are in the upper tier, row 16 (so probably close to the back) diagonally opposite the finish.  But at least we get to go to the Olympic Park and the Velodrome.

It would appear that the train does run from St Pancras to Stratford International ... takes a whole 6 minutes

[We'll have a "through train ticket" from Warwick Parkway which is an almost reasonable cost ... the walk-up fare for the St P - Strat bit is over £5!!! - that's about a quid a minute]

I was in a meeting so thought I'd missed out. But a friendly cycling colleague who knew I wanted to go managed to get us tickets for Sunday. Yippee!

Despite being in the office early I promptly forgot to check the time - got on about 10:30 (nowt available).
A couple of mates/colleagues were ready on the dot of 10 and got eff-all too.

:(

Still, at least now the facilities are there, there'll be other years, and without the olympics-related interest...
