Already booked the day off work. It'd better not be windy and wet!  :)

Not me sadly as this is one of my current favourite rides - even after I've remembered that it involves that climb out of Cromford.  Mrs Delph Cyclist has other plans for me that day, which is a pity as I'm on 179.5 AAA points and this would have been a suitably eventful ride to complete my 3x3 AAAaward.

Had a great time on this last year, there was a huge sunset and the supermoon rising behind as I came down the Cat & Fiddle road.

I'm in Macc that weekend but can't ride as I'll be moving back rather than just visiting. Hopefully manage to get round as a perm (or maybe just a fun ride!) once I'm unpacked...

Well I'm going to come along as I missed it last year.

I'm planning to ride this after being unable to last year. Currently I'm holding off on entry as my 12yo's thinking about riding with me - he's done a max. of 85 miles to date.

The house will be full of partying women so I'm riding, looking forward to this one.

Broken Cross is 35 km from home and I'll be riding so trying to decide if I can be bothered to add another 30km for ECE  :-\

I'd very much like to partake in this, but living in London makes it far away. My current plan would be to take the last train on Friday evening to somewhere ~100km from the start and ride from there. Or is anybody willing to share an accommodation?

The Leek forecast has 19mph Southerly at 1300 - but the Longnor forecast (somewhat off-piste) has ssw gusts at 41mph  :D. With that behind you you might freewheel from the cafĂ© up to Roach end.

Missed this due to not recovering from serious injury in time - I'm OK to ride locally but SWMBO was overly concerned at a 200k away from support.

I'll get round to doing it next year.

First time around this route and thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks go to John and his helpers for their kind hospitality. Breakfast and a good portion of Chilli and rice afterwards plus two visits to the van of delights en route? Spoiled is what we were!

I can see this ride being an annual treat for me  :)

A good fast ride down to bunbury despite the headwind, made better time than I expected, hoped to have a bit of a tailwind past Congleton but not much. Did some pushing up the hills to reach gun hill and a bit more up it. Reached the van of delights at the roaches but started with a bit of stomach cramps, thought it might be the cold water I was drinking. Beautiful scenery as we climbed and walked up to the top. Got to the junction with the main road, car in front, couldn't unclip in time so fell into the verge laughing at myself and a kind motorist stopped to see if I was OK. The lanes on from here had me wondering if I was on the right track, they were very narrow with a good amount of grass growing in the middle. However I had no choice but to follow as I didn't have a clue where I was. Had a cup of tea at Arkwright's store in cromford just before the climb out. Just about managed that but found myself walking again up to the high peak trail. A couple more joined me for that leg up to parsley hay. It was here my calf muscles had a life of their own twitching in all fashion just like Dr. Jeckyl as he transforms into Mr. Hyde. Stomach cramps still in force. Looking forward to the strong tailwind over axe edge moor that had been promised, but alas wasted on me as I walked most of it. Got to the cat and fiddle for a most welcome zoom down into Macclesfield with tremendous cross wind blowing me all over the place. Finished about an hour to spare. Could only manage a bowl of apple pie and custard at Perrin towers before making my way to the car. A most enjoyable bike ride walk thanks to all helpers.

Great day out, thank to John and all the helpers! Weather was less than kind, more in terms of rainfall than wind or cold making for a tough day.

I made it harder for myself by getting my feeding wrong and needed to call into the Winking Man for a Coke and a bag of crisps. I had managed to convince myself that we would be back for 18:00, 18:30 at the latest so like a complete idiot I didn't bother with a front light. As I didn't finish until nearer 20:00 I spent the last hour trying to see my way with one front light between two bikes, a schoolboy error which could have been costly especially it involved going down the Cat and Fiddle at over 25mph!

The company and catering were great all day, many thanks again to all

Great big thanks to John and the crew for going above and beyond as usual. Lessons were learnt on Saturday - ours being to carry a spare tyre!  ::-)
