« Last post by jsabine on Today at 02:02:22 pm »Aye, I made up some saw boards a few years ago. Screw a piece of wood (1x½ in my case, I think) along the factory-cut edge of a sheet of ply - this becomes your guide.
Run your circular saw along this guide and lo, you have a straight-edge cut to the exact width of your saw's base. Clamp to the work along the desired cut line, and you should have accurate cutting with minimal setup (though clamping in a way that doesn't obstruct the saw can take a bit of thought).

Cheap is relative, but storage-oriented[1] Virtual Private Servers are a thing. Spin up one with your Linux of choice, and SFTP/rsync/borg/whatever your stuff to it. Less hassle than a Raspberry Pi at your mother-in-law's, but doesn't mean selling out to The Man. And you can run computer programs on it, which is sometimes useful.
I pay €5/month for 1TB
[1] Lots of (likely spinning-rust) disk, underwhelming CPU/RAM. Ideal for offsite backups.
