Sports Personality of the Year

Amongst the "Memorial" section (those we lost this year) were the following

Sir Tom Finney, Jack Brabham, Chris Chataway, Alfredo di Stefano, Elena Baltacha, Malcolm Glazer, Eusebio, and many others. And, of course, Phillip Hughes.

Let's play "Spot the odd one out".

That's right, Malcolm Glazer.

In case you are wondering who he was, with his sons, the person who bought Manchester United using huge debt, with the club as collateral, thereby hocking the club up to its neck in debt repayments.
( Glazer had "effectively completed the takeover with the club's own cash", with United being £525m in debt after the takeover. This turned United from the richest club in the world to the one which owed the most money)
He is universally disliked by the fans.

He was a rich person, trying to get richer, and yet his name is up there with Sir Tom Finney.

Who next? Mohamed Al-Fayed ? At least Mo stumped up his own cash.
Some people say I'm self-obsessed but that's enough about them.

Jo Pavey,  what an inspiration to keep going when most people had written her off as too old.  Oh and she doesn't get Lottery money either.
