Just saw that Anne Heche out of the iconic ‘Volcano’ disaster movie (the one with Tommy Lee Jones set in LA)is very poorly after an RTA. Blimey.

I renember her in (googles) Six Days, Seven Nights with Harrison Ford.

She's obviously most famous for being Ellen DeGeneres' partner for many years.

Having read the account of her drunken driving, I am inclined to feel more sympathy for the person whose home she destroyed.

Indeed, it almost sound like a suicide. Her car penetrated 30ft into the house.

Presumably some 3-tonne behemoth of a USian SUV.  A normal car would have made a hole but not gone in more than half its length, based on boy-racer-screwed-up news photos.

Remember, though, that most USAnian houses are made from cardboard, or papier-mâché, or other materials easily demolished by Big Bad Wolves.

It was a Mini Cooper.  TMZ has a couple of CCTV instances of it being driven poorly just before the crash, including nearly hitting a pedestrian and then zooming at high speed down what appears to be a residential street. Also, cocaine in her blood test (although no confirmation if it was above any local legal limit).

Proof that:

RTAs are bad.

Drinking/drugging and driving are bad combinations.
