Her His web's gone 'an all.  Poor thing's got to start all over again.  Was a huge one right across the path.  Not the most sensible of places, especially on an extremely windy day.

I thought they did a new one every day regardless. But I may be wrong. The old brain's not what it used to be.
There's no vibrations, but wait.

The garden cross spider European garden spider - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia is an autumn phenomenon. They only make webs at this time of year and I always assumed that it was last year's brood maturing and being ready to breed, and that their disapperance was as a result of laying eggs, after which they die (read Charlotte's Webb).  According to the Wiki link only the females spin webs.

I think they are beautiful creatures and well 'ard. There was one in our garden earlier this year which was sucking the juices out of the carcase of a wasp it had killed. I reckon that was sour.

They're out in force again.

Sadly, for second consecutive morning I've blundered straight through a web built across the narrow passageway between the shed and the house. This time I carefully moved the spider to another part of the garden. It will be interesting to see if she comes back and builds another web in the same place tonight.

Come into my parlour, said the spider to the Wowbagger.

Nope, it doesn't really scan. ;D
Actually, it is rocket science.
