A bit of a long shot but can anyone recommend a hotel in Las Vegas that would be good for my wife and I and our 10 year old son to stay for a few nights next summer?
He doesn't need a 'kids club' or anything as structured as that, but he loves swimming so somewhere with decent pools and outdoor areas would be ideal.
The only recommendation I've had so far is the Mandalay which looks to have great pools but I'm a bit concerned that it might be aimed at what you might call the young randy adult market!
All recommendations welcomed, PM if you prefer.

The 4 Seasons is in the upper floors of the Mandalay, but is more family oriented.
It is a seperate hotel in the same building.
It has it's own reception area, restaurants and bars.
It has no casino.
It shares the same pools as the Mandalay, but the pools are totally family-oriented.
There's no 'Spring Break' kind of stuffs going on.
But it is of course connected with the Mandalay Bay and then by monorail to the Luxor and beyond, so if you want to go explore the Strip, that's totally possible.
We've used it on a few occasions with our family, and it would be my recommendation.

OT anecdote: because hurricanes, I found myself having to collect my grate frend Mikey from a "resort" in Reno earlier this year. It took me fifteen minutes of groping through the dimly-lit, smog-filled and sticky-carpeted ground floor casino just to find the hotel reception :sick: i can't imagine anyone going there from choice rather than necessity, crashing snob that I be.
