This Is Bat Country!

Cyling down towards the canal last near the industrial museam, I look up and a bat is flying just above my my head caught in the light of my head torch, I think the light had attracted insects that were in turn being eaten by the bats

It flew at pace with me for about a good 4 or 5 seconds and then it was gone again, I stopped and had a good scan with the lights, lots of bats diving in and out of the beams of light.

It was amazing to actualy see one on the wing from close up, I have only ever seen that in wildlife docs before now.

Bats tend to forage in patterns. If you see one flying about, if you stop and wait, it will probably be back around a loop in a few minutes.
It is simpler than it looks.
