Garmin Connect -
      Activity Details for
Bradley Wiggins - Giro, stage 3

That is really cool.  You could ride the same route and compare yourself against a legend too.

great find - that's absolutely nuts!!

I looked at it and thought I was within shouting distance of a similar average power (260ish watts), then look at the detail and he's over 400W for most of the last hour!  Blimey.

Looks cool, but I think the distance data is a little wrong, apparently he only covered 27 miles, and it took him over 3 hours to do it!!!!

On the subject of Wiggins performance in the Giro:
It is interesting that a very anti doping rider like Wiggins ( read his Bio to see why ) is doing well on the climbs this year, compared to the others.
Could it be that this years Giro is relatively clean?  Or do they not start on the sauce until the 2nd or 3rd week?

& I bet he wasnt really trying..  1,000W is fairly easy for a very, very (very) short burst.  keeping it so far > 400 for the last hour though, is  :o

There was an interview with Thor Hushovd where he was talking about the power needed to ride Paris Roubaix.  I think it was 6-700 Watts every time they were approaching (and on) the cobbles.  There are over 30 sections of cobbles!

I'd love to know what sort of power Cavendish (or Hoy) are producing in a sprint.  :o

He has lost 5Kg in weight since last year.

He also said on cyclingnews that he had been doing some weight work to improve his performance on the bike.

I think it is keeping off the sauce (the stuff with grapes and hops and barley and suchlike) as well as weights work and losing weight.

Most I've done myself this year is 913W on Birker Fell in the Lake District and that was an uphill sprint.  Seen 1085W last year.
