Worming: a PSA

Did you know that frequent vomiting and flatulence can caused by intestinal parasites in cats?

I do now! ::-)

Having run loads of blood-and-piddle tests on Ethel-the-Elderly, and found nothing amiss with her kidneys or thyroid, and then seen the daily vomiting stop as soon as she was given a worming tablet, the vet thinks that this is the most likely suspect. Given she gets wormed every three months anyway, I have no idea how her parasite load got so high. Especially as she has no teeth, which I'd have thought limited the number of meeces she can eat!
Have you seen my blog? It has words. And pictures! http://ablogofallthingskathy.blogspot.com/

She wont necessarily have got them from rodents, much more likely to get them from faecal contamination in soil or grooming. Intermediate hosts like fleas, slugs, snails...

No pun intended, but I hope this thread won't elicit a host of gruesome imagery from them that like this sort of thing.
Certainly never seen cycling south of Sussex
