Funny thing is, she's sitting on top of a rather stunted catnip plant. I wonder why it's stunted....
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

Met this handsome chappie over the Jubilee weekend:

Apparently he's a Siberian Forest Cat, or something equally odd. But he was very lovely - even when he went and brought a small fledgeling as his BBQ contribution, and proceeded to disembowel it in the centre of the party.  ;D

... Apparently he's a Siberian Forest Cat, or something equally odd. ...

The Siberian is one of three breeds of Forest Cat, which are believed to be the ancestors of all long haired breeds.  The other two are the Maine Coon, and the Norwegian Forest Cat (the only one of the three with Forest Cat actually in the name).

I reckon Kai is related to one (or more!) of these, because he has a lot of the features, the ruff around the neck, long legs, big paws etc

That chap is a fine looking cat though, lovely colouring.
Actually, it is rocket science.

Charlene.  I think you're confusing her with one of Ba'al's and Belphegor's openers of cans and changers of kitty litter.

Whoops iPad fail; the iPad wouldn't let me put in C h a r l e n e without trying to change it to Charlotte and I hadn't noticed the change of spelling.

Back to topic, it's a lovely heart warming site.

Zev scoffing lemon sponge cake off of the bit of paper on the base of the cake, after I've finished eating the cake itself!

The cleaned off paper, it did start of with quite a bit of cake still on it, but ended up somewhat damp from cat spit!

Afterwards, busily licking her lips. :)

Kai having a relaxing moment, after spending the previous half an hour hurtling around the house with Zev.  Shortly afterwards he decided to bugger off outside, as usual!

Frankie is spending most of his time at home now, also doesn't seem to mind Lumen anymore. That will change soon.

So, Bear Grumpikins is settling in (I don't make the names!):

He's a lovely cat, a little under socialised and very timid of humans - it will hopefully get better as he settles more.

Chilli and him get on quite well - he seems to want to be her friend more than the other way around - if he doesn't know where she is, he'll wander around the house, chirping, until he finds her!  We have a small litter tray challenge in that he is now using Chilli's favourite one and she won't share it at all with him (though she did with Scoville - though he would only ever wee in that one).

Right! What's next?

Ooooh. That sounds like a daft idea.  I am in!

Yes!  Cass did the beginnings of introductions at the weekend, whilst I was away at Mille Alba - and no signs of agression at all from either cat, so things moved pretty quickly.  It took many days with Chilli and Scoville - so that's great that they managed in a couple of days.  He's enjoying having the whole house to explore as well.

he is quite shy around humans still - sometimes.  He sits at the base of my chair in the office quite a lot and I can stroke him as much as I like.  Other times he physically flinches if you put your hand out to stroke him - then runs off.

All going well though - it's nice having two cats again - especially two well cats that chase each other around etc.
Right! What's next?

After almost twelve months, both Kai and Zev still occasionally flinch and cower when I put my hand out to them.  It's possibly Kai's been hit by someone else in their house, because he clearly does visit other people (I know this from my neighbours), but Zev is far too nervous to go near anyone else.  The one time I answered the door when holding her, I lost a significant amount of blood.  She really does not like other people (no one else has yet been in the house long enough for her to not feel threatened by them).
