Next door's cat Kevin who lurks underneath our dinghy on our front lawn - except today he decided to sleep on top of it.

Our two, first up Oreo, the boss (they are brothers, but Oreo rules the roost)

Next up Twix, when you see them both together I always get reminded of the guys (IIRC) out of 10,000 leagues under the sea (and Tad Williams' Otherland series), one being long and skinny, the other smaller and tubby.

Still looks OK this morning. Mind you, we had a very amusing three hours a couple of years ago filling it with the dinghy equivalent of Slime. We had to keep rolling the dinghy around, turning it upside down etc to ensure the inside was fully coated. That thing is heavy and not easy to handle on dry land!

BBQ* leads to a rather nice warm patch which Princess doesn't take long to exploit...

*Photo taken on Sunday, but I just like it, we BBQ'd tonight too which is when photos 2, 3 and 4 were taken.

That is one serious mog.  A cat I would have respect for, looks like an elder statesman of the cat world, and possibly ours as well!

The picture did rather remind me of Bill Bryson's 'Notes from a Small Island', where as a fresh arrival to the UK from the US, he was somewhat taken aback at the less-than-customer-oriented service from the propierors of the B+Bs on the south coast.

Sample here:

A page or so later he says:

Neighbours' kitten.  Trotted in when I opened the door and demanded a ride on the Trice.

When I refused he went sniffing around the house, probably because his fish-dar had detected the smoked salmon defrosting in the kitchen.

That's a particularly impressive Tail.

Eventually lured him back outside with a game of chase-the-string.

He looks like an impressive young fellow.  Is he long haired, only too young to have grown much yet?  The tail suggests he might be.  His colouring isn't entirely dissimilar to Kai's although with a bit more black.
Actually, it is rocket science.

Yeah, he's young - he's grown visibly in the last couple of weeks.  Too young to be allowed out if you ask me, especially having observed his lack of road sense.   :hand:

He's got long hair - there's surprisingly little cat under all that - and a spectacular tail (that's natural resting fluffiness, not excited bushy tail mode), so I wouldn't be surprised if he grows up to be very Kai-like.

He's quite friendly and extremely curious - he climbed all over the bike trailer a couple of weeks ago while I was hitching it up, and I've seen him approaching random students as they walk past outside.  And he followed barakta into the house when she came home from work this evening and ran around exploring.
