OK, it was a bit contrived [1] but.. for sheer entertainment it was great. The only downside was Callum Skinner breaking a collarbone in the sprint - the banking is somewhat unforgiving.
The Derney race was unreal - never seen anything like it before. Television doesn't capture the sheer smell and sound as riders hurtle round the track at up to 75kph.
You are really close to the action, and for photographers there is plenty of light with a modern dSLR at f4 (about 1/160 at iso 800)

Good parking at the Velodrome but shocking signing trying to get there by bike. Some nice dutch style segregated cycle path in Glasgow though.
