I couldn't find any further info either.  It is a bit rubbish really.

Individual stage elevations are quoted here: https://cyclingdigest.net/tour-de-france-2023-stage-by-stage/

I’d forgotten just how shit the shitverts are. There seems to be more shiteverts than bicycles at the moment.  >:(

ITV4 coverage just had an aerial shot of Lemoniz nuclear power station.

Looked a bit decrepit, so I googled it. Fascinating:

From discussions with friends in the nuclear power industry, I understand that many professionals thing that PWRs are not the safest of ways to harness the energy of fission. The main problem is the pressurised water in the event of a failure.

I'm still catching up with the recording but hopefully they’re getting the shitvert quota filled early so as not to interrupt things later.  Also, did I just see a flying pig?

It’s a bit weird that this is the longest and I think highest of todays climbs, but it’s not categorised because it’s not steep enough.

Well, he is Australian :demon:  And he lives in Switzerland these days, which is enough to scramble anyone’s head-branes.

The highlight programme was similarly afflicted, I'm sure it's worse even than last year; which was bad.  I am seriously thinking about reverting to the Grauniad for all my TdF reporting & analysis requirements. Well, the Grauniad and Pandemic's inimitable and absolutely unmissable coverage.

I've just noticed that because none of the people who figured at the intermediate sprint today were anywhere near the points at the finish, Yates (S) will be wearing green tomorrow

Miserable hole.  Apart from the Italian-speaking cantons, of course.

I had a Swiss girlfriend for a while. Visited a few times. Came to the conclusion that the Swiss aren't a particularly fun bunch.

Drove up from Italy to Alsace via Switzerland once.  In the southern part the food was good, the autostrada halts weren't too spick & span and the coffee was good.  Through the St. Gotthard tunnel the halts were clinically sterile and the coffee was shit. Cost more too.

I've done the same, popping over the San Bernadino pass, and following Lac Léman but exiting in the Jura. Stopped at a motorway service station and had the embarrassing situation of my then 7 year old son spotting a vending machine on the wall in the gents toilet and asking me what a "Travel Pussy" was.

I didn't actually know so I had to Google it...

But I’m already convinced I need a zen mower with RTKN* technology. And trousers that actually fit my cyclist’s thighs.

No wonder the Swiss have trouble cracking a smile if that's the effort they have to go.

We just subscribe to GCN+ . Not massively cheap at £39.99 a year (unless you get an offer), but full start to finish coverage of the big tours, pretty much all the classics, all the early season stuff, CX, track, different national championships etc. And can watch on the TV (via the app running on our TV or on the FireTV box), cast from a laptop, watch on a mobile or whatever. As MrsH is probably even more avid than I am, it's worth it to us.
