2020 Chevy Chase: new start venue, improved facilities, same great route with added interest and I hope a few more great people!
This long-running event usually attracts riders from around the country (and sometines Holland).
review by Deano OTP 'probably the best 200 in the country'

Why not take a long w/e first see the tour de Yorkshire then ride your own tour de Northumberland on quiet roads up to and over the Otterburn army ranges.  https://ridewithgps.com/routes/12607232

We have moved the start to Walbottle college sports pavilion West end of Newcastle close to the A69.
Plenty of parking plus shower and changing facilities. Route will be straight onto the B6318 Military road to Chollerford.
Whygate control is moving to  Stonehaugh village where we will of course be serving  Lynn’s ‘super-nice-super-cycling-energy’  flap-jills’  plus hot and cold drinks, (proper inside toilets this time).

Route will then be as usual to Falstone Café, Elsdon café, Control at Wedder Leap picnic area (more event food and hot drinks) then up over army ranges to return to Elsdon. (Alan and Marion have  run the cyclists café here for over 40 years)  Back via Scots gap through Wallington, Capheaton (another interesting café if you need it!) through lanes back to Walbottle and  the Pavilion door  @202 Km.  :)

We will be sharing the finish with Walbottle cricket club and maybe some willl be fast enough to share the cricketers tea!

Later on we will be organising hot food ourselves. There will be plenty of time to shower, change, relax and socialise.

Here’s  looking forward  to  the next  Chevy Chase!

There is a not inconsequential risk of hailstones on the ranges this weekend.
