Lighten up, folks, it's a Christmas Special! I found it thoroughly entertaining.
I found the steady stream of self-congratulatory in-jokes tedious to the point of distraction. It might have been more entertaining had Moffat spent less time showing off how clever he is. I don't mind a convoluted plot, but this was actually just convoluted storytelling of an inanely simplistic plot.
Gatiss eating himself to death for a bet was amusing though. Andrew Scott is always good value too.
I hear the ending featured a man explaining feminism to a murderous suffragette cult in purple kkk outfits. Sounds amazing. Almost wish I'd stuck with it.
Anyway, looking forward to being equally disappointed by War & Peace tonight.
