FS; Optima Duet Tandem recumbent
« on: 04 March, 2017, 04:11:45 pm »
After not using this bike for over 18 months we have decided to sell it  :o
The sale will go towards something faster!

Get your hands on a maybe 1 of a kind bike. I have not yet managed to find pictures of another online anywhere and Optima can't tell me how many were made.
Since getting it we have changed the front wheel to a 20" so as to be able to reach the floor  ;D
A new rear shock has been fitted as has the rear cassette changed from a 28t to a 32t to allow for the non dutch hills over here.
I think I still have the 26" for and wheel in the shed if you have long enough legs.

Bike is in Milton Keynes.

£1600

Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by "something faster"? Another sort of recumbent, or an upright?

I'm guessing that separates in the middle for transport?

Still recumbent for me  ;D

It does come apart in the middle but you'd need to split the chain and cables.
The join is mainly for leg adjustment though as the seat is fixed.
I've just put it straight on the roof rack as it is when we've moved it.

Local bike shop has a Nazca Quetzal tandem which Dave and his wife use regularly.

Lokks like a great bike and if I could get the wife to ride a bike..... (and I'd need another garage also!!)

Mine can with a competent pilot and a wide swing  ;D ;D
We got better on it as time went on, not sure what it'd be like at the minute though with 18 months of not riding it  ;)

Ok, I'll get my coat .....

That is a fantastic machine. Someone is going to get a real bargain there. I regret Mrs Tiger is not moved.
