In July this year I was one of the 10 women doing the inaugural Pure Peak Grit event (designed by Alaina Beacall) where we raised money for Friends of the Peaks District by attempting to complete something that (we believe) nobody else ever attempted: to ride pretty much all the hills in the Peak District in one ride and finish within 48 hours.
It was tough, but also a lot of fun. You can read my blog about it here: https://duracellbunnyonabike.com/2019/09/04/48h-pure-peak-grit-from-hill-hater-to-hill-lover/ (https://duracellbunnyonabike.com/2019/09/04/48h-pure-peak-grit-from-hill-hater-to-hill-lover/)
If you fancy checking out the route for yourself, be that in 48 hours or as at a more leisurely touring pace, you can download the route from http://www.purepeakgrit.cc/route/ (http://www.purepeakgrit.cc/route/). For route use, please donate a suggested £5 to the Friends of the Peak District. See site for links and details.

Tired just reading that. The climbing numbers boggle. I want to get some climbing in this next year but reckon 72 hours, a long weekend would better suit me if I was to have a go at this. I used to ride some of those hills as a teenager on my single speed, but not so many at once.
Fantastic effort and well done to all of you.

For anyone that fancies it, registration is open - 72 and 48 hour options.

I am in; having moved to the heart of the Peak District, it seems a sensible way to explore my new 'hood.

It sounds very dangerous - helmets required. I'll stick to safe events for now.
You take care up there Marcus.

This years edition starts tomorrow, I'll be riding it.

I've ridden most, if not all, of the roads in one direction or another already but should be fun trying to ride them all in one go

Good luck! I've just moved to the edge of the Peak District...saving route for later (mad laugh....last weekend I was pushing up Rowsley hill, looks at list...it's ONLY 20%!)
