Duty calls: the Dunmow Art Group AGM tomorrow - but it might be over by 9-ish, so I could make the 3 Elms before last orders.....but don't hold your breath!

Next week should be ok, though.

Anyone up for a breezy ride this Wednesday

I'm on for braving Typhoon TOWIE (or Tropical Storm Tanya?) for an outing to Chignal St James - I think it's October since we were there last.

I have to go to That London tomorrow though, so I'm not sure what time I will be able to set off.  I'll keep you posted.

Sounds fair, and if we do brave Typhoon TOWIE then I thought a route something like this which would normally be about 90 minutes of cycling time to Chignal St James but may be more depending upon head wind  :o
At least we may get blown home!

The Withamite peleton (if 2 can be a peleton) has a new destination of The Rodney with multiple ascents of NH this evening.
So if anyone else was intending to ride to The 3 Elms this evening then we're sorry we'll miss you or missed you if you're reading this tomorrow!

That's the first MEMWNS where I've received an inappropriate txt from the person on the other side of the table ;)!

Oh and huggy's disk brakes came in handy when we had to dodge the wreckage of Typhoon TOWIE on the A12 cycle path (fallen tree!).

To be fair, the text was meant for the current Mrs H; it was just because you were the last person I messaged before checking in at the refreshment stop and I hadn't had enough beer by then!
 ::-)
May have had enough beer by the return trip as the disc brakes came in handy for the second time as had forgotten where fallen tree actually was

So, two questions ...

1/ What did the inappropriate message say?
2/ How many times did you go up and down North Hill?

It was simply that the message was signed with an X    :hand:
Oaky took that to mean I sent him a kiss but it is in fact my usual signature!

Some finely kept ales were consumed again served by the landlord that can't stand real ale but knows his customers.
The selection on offer included Fireside, Doom Bar and another the exact name of which (something to do with falling down) escapes me at the moment but Oaky will be along shortly to complete the line up.  Some other barrels were waiting in the celler to be cracked open once these have been drained.

I didn't know there was an ale with that name. I hope it's got a bit more in the way of malt and hops, and less by way of peat, than its namesake.

I am off work all of next week and looking to do some riding to make up for lack of commuting miles. If anyone is up for a daytime ride please let me know... I know it is contrary to the N in the title.. but we could wear dark glasses so it appears to be night time.... I think I should go and ride NH a few times as I have never ridden it yet... let alone 50 odd times this year

PS... cant ride Wednesday day time... going to a funeral 12noon :'(

I'm around in the daytime next week.  I'll have to negotiate with mrs_o as we're into the school hols by then and we may be off doing family stuff, but I do want to bag at least 4 more ascents on my fixed (so that I can pretend that the target of 52 was for fixed ascents only ;)).
